about

This is a challenging listen. I humbly request that you listen to it all at once, as it is a single piece in three movements.

It is borne of, and is a reflection of the intense anxiety and confusion we are faced with right now in our country and the world. It is purposefully uncomfortable, unmusical at times. It implores us to stay alert, keep our eyes and ears open, and question everything until we find the truth.

David Lee made some incredible art to go with it; he sees things in the music that I didn't even consciously know I constructed.

I knew right away, on 11/9, that this was what I could offer the world. It finished itself in a week after 8 years of incompletion. And I wanted to wrap it in bookends that would enhance it.

Truth and information are essential to our functioning as a world community, and it's increasingly hard to trust our sources. We hear from bottom lines instead of professionalism. We are manipulated at our very core, robbed of any chance to do The Right Thing because of bad intel. It must be stopped. Good sources must be protected.

There is an element of consolation and compassion, too; our tendency is to panic, to suspect everyone in the room when we discover we've been lied to. It's ok. Not everyone is a liar. We can't let this behavior shut us down, turn us cold, or worse, turn us against each other. Yes, we will get burned. But our courage shows when we continue to reach out and trust each other. They lie to us now because they were lied to and now they are scared and shut down. We mustn't let the same thing happen to us. We are stronger than that. We are stronger than this. You are stronger than this.
